    Help save Off The Cuff Music Bar by coming to BANDATHON - a free community music event. The music is a blend of youth and adult acts. The youths come from JOM Youth Open Mic - the free, award-winning open mic held once a month at OTC. The adult acts are mainly local. Grammy award winner La Roux will do a special DJ set. Comedian Kerry Godliman will guest compere from 12-2pm. Roger Humbles’ Heads Up Jazz Group are on the main stage at 6.30pm. Plus Ramfunk, The 49’ers, Shut Up Sally, Betty Ablett, Bugeye, Jack Tyson Charles. It’s all for free - All you have to do to help save Off The Cuff is buy a drink at the bar.     Milling and Baking Day, Brixton Windmill

    Sunday 25 February, £85 BOOK HERE A unique full day experience making flour and bread with our Brixton Windmill millers and bakers. You’ll not find another day like this in London! Make your own traditional stone ground flour in London’s last working mill and use it to make your own loaf of bread. Built in 1816, this Grade 2 listed windmill has stood the test of time and is still producing flour for bakeries and bakers over 200 years later. What you’ll do You’ll get to do a mix of flour milling and baking throughout the day with a break for lunch (part of which you’ll be baking yourselves).  By taking part you’ll also be contributing to the work of Friends of Windmill Gardens.

    Beginners Flamenco Classes

    Ever wanted to try flamenco dancing? Why not join our regular beginners class now running at Brixton House?
    Flamenco is a rich and complex art form which encompasses singing, dancing and musical accompaniment. In these classes students get the opportunity to learn the basics of flamenco dance technique including footwork, and hand, arm and body movements. A short choreography to music will be taught to develop an understanding of how the dance accompanies the flamenco singing. All students are assured of individual attention and they will be nurtured and supported to dance their best and most of all enjoy this rich art form.

    £17 Drop in and £60 for a 4 week term.

    WHAT TO WEAR:
    Please wear clothes that are comfortable to move around in. We will be stamping our feet so please wear a closed toe shoe with a sturdy heel. Stillettos are not suitable. Students wishing to dance with a skirt are advised to wear a wide, full volume, mid-length to long style.
