5-week block of practice sessions for adults - intermediate/advanced This is an opportunity for more experienced students who have already done two or more of our throwing courses to practice throwing and to work on their own projects. Cost £115 for five 2-hour sessions; £57.50 concessions Booking website:  https://www.tickettailor.com/events/bellhousepotterystudio/1176240 Programme These sessions are untutored, and you will work independently on your own projects. In the first three sessions you will focus on improving your throwing skills, then finish your pots in weeks four and five. There will be the opportunity to apply slips and experiment with decorating techniques such as inlay and sgraffito. You can keep up to eight pots which will be fired and glazed for you, by the studio, in our standard white glaze or transparent. There will be a technician present in the studio throughout for practical queries. Please only book these sessions if you are an intermediate student, willing to work independently, and have attended at least two throwing courses at Bell House Pottery. A Taster Class does not count towards this total. Available dates These sessions take place on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10 am. Throwing on the Wheel, 4-week course, Beginners, 13–17-year-olds Cost £160 for four 2-hour sessions. £80 concessions Available dates: Course is on four consecutive Saturday mornings. Next course is 18 January to 8 February 2025 Booking website: https://buytickets.at/bellhousepotterystudio/1316047 During the weekly 2-hour sessions: You will have a first go at centering clay on the wheel, throwing cylinders and bowls. You will also learn how to finish your pots and how to decorate with slips. You can keep up to six pots which will be fired and glazed for you at the end of this course. The cost of all materials and firings are included in your course fee. Please note: This course is for teenagers only, aged 13-17. Throwing on the wheel can be a messy business and aprons will not be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing. About the teacher: Alice Wakefield Alice is the most recent recruit to the Bell House Pottery team. She joined us in September 2024. Alice has experience teaching students in both throwing and hand-building in potteries, community centres and schools.
