Wild + Lees Wine Diversity Scholarship

Wild + Lees Wine Diversity Scholarship

Take it from us, the wine industry is a really fun and rewarding place to work. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always feel accessible to everyone as a career option. That is why we are launching a wine diversity scholarship here at Wild + Lees. The best way into wine is with a "Wines and Spirits Education Trust" Level 2 qualification but that can be expensive, so we are donating two places on the WSET Level 2 course to young local adults. Ideally, you’ll be 18-25 and come from the broad Brixton area. Beyond that, there’s no strict criteria but we’re basically looking for people who don’t have the resources to do this themselves. Please send us an email (hello@wildandlees.com) with a couple of paragraphs about yourself, with a little on your background, your reasons for wanting to study wine and why it hasn't been possible up until now. We'll get back to you, arrange a follow up chat and, after we've spoken to all the candidates, we'll award the two places. You’ll also need to be able to free up three consecutive days in September 2021 to do the course at the WSET global headquarters in Bermondsey. Closing date to get in touch with...

Our group of gardening volunteers meet on the first Saturday of every month from 12.30 to 2.30pm to plant bulbs, flowers, fruit bushes, hops, and tend the herb bed. Our aim is to keep the park looking well cared for, colourful, and a welcoming space to visitors and nature alike. Tools, gardening gloves, drinking water and light refreshments are provided. If you’d like to help out, please email info@brixtonwindmill.org Windmill Gardens is a well-used park that gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015. The award has been retained each year since then. This is in large part due to the dedicated work of gardening volunteers from Friends of Windmill Gardens. The Friends want to provide more recreation facilities for young people. Working with Lambeth Council we hope to upgrade the children’s playground and add more facilities for teenagers.
