Join us for the first Naked Larder Brunch Club where we bring you a joyful morning of mindfulness, delicious food and good company. We're partnering with Lisa Daopraky, mantra artist and founder of EMERGE, a women's wellness company, who will begin the morning with a warm and welcoming meditation. Lisa creates playful, thoughtful spaces where people can slow down, breathe, and reconnect. Her gatherings are full of colour, laughter, beauty, and togetherness: simple rituals that help you feel grounded, uplifted, and connected. She’ll guide a 30 minute meditation to help everyone arrive, settle the mind, and ease in before we gather to feast. Followed by a gorgeous brunch showcasing a wide variety of ways to use Naked Larder's delicious, plant-based produce. We'll offer a nourishing, nutrient dense buffet spread including warm and cold choices. Paired with a selection of coffee, tea and herbal teas all from Naked Larder. Naked Larder is a unique plastic-free grocery service based in Herne Hill. Their mission is to provide affordable, packaging-free groceries that are ethcially and sustainably sourced. Good for you and good for our planet. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, good company and a perfect way to start your Saturday!
Introduction to Backbends – Overcoming fear and finding balance. There is a link to book this workshop here. Nina will lead this workshop to introduce and develop backbends. Not suitable for absolute beginners; you should have a reasonable level of fitness and regular asana practice. Our body’s natural response to danger is to curl in, protecting our most vulnerable part – our heart, both the physical heart and the energetic heart space (anahata). Backbends do the very opposite action opening us up to the world. We are exposing ourselves and that takes courage – but also builds more of it! Overcoming our fears on the mat can give us courage off the mat too. Anahata is the center of compassion, and a positive balance in the heart chakra cultivates sensitivity and unconditional love for self and others. Our spines are an incredible combination of strength and flexibility – of Sthira and Sukha. Practicing backbends can open up the front body, increase your hip flexibility, and improve the mobility of your lumbar and thoracic spine. Backbends are invigorating and strengthening. They stretch the quads and hip flexors and help open up the shoulders and chest, an area where lots of us hold...

A free, monthly opportunity to share songs informally with a group of people who want to hear them! In the function room at the Grove House Tavern in Camberwell on the last Thursday evening of the month. We sit around a bunch of tables, listen and take turns to sing each other a song. Usually we go round everyone three or four times. You don't have to arrive at the start (though it's easier if you do) or stay till the end. No mics, no speakers, no stage, no “down the front”. Most sing unaccompanied, acoustic instruments are welcome. Everyone listens, and every song gets a clap. No one has to sing, everyone is invited to. If you do, you can sing whatever you like. If you need the song words that's fine. To help with inspiration, each month we have an entirely optional theme. Feel free to ignore it. Next session Thursday 30 April. Optional theme: Dance
