    5-week yoga course for complete beginners at Yoga Point Brixton

    This 5-week course runs from 26 February 2025 – 2 April 2025 on Wednesday evenings from 8pm-9pm. There is a link to booking here. This course is lead by Vaccasin and is for people who have never done yoga and would like to learn. Or for people who have done a little yoga/ did yoga some time ago and would like to start at the beginning. If you have any injuries or medical issues that you are working with and are unsure about whether yoga is appropriate please write in to info@yogapoint.co.uk Yoga can strengthen and stretch the body, improve balance and focus and help reduce stress and anxiety.

    Bread Making Class at Brixton Windmill

    Saturday 28 February 10.30am to 1.30pm £70 per person www.brixtonwindmill.org BOOK HERE Celebrate Real Bread Week at Brixton Windmill! Join our hands-on baking class to learn how to make delicious artisan breads. It’s a chance to hone your home bread making skills using our unique stoneground flour from Brixton Windmill.  The class is for a small group with a maximum of 10 participants so you’ll get lots of tips from our teacher Fabio Bettini.  Plus there’s lots of time to ask questions. There’ll also be a chance to pop in to the windmill to see how our volunteer millers make our flour*. This class is suitable for anyone, regardless of age or baking experience (although a little home baking experience might be helpful). All the recipes will be fully explained step by step by our session leader. Refreshments are included during the class.  You may want to bring an apron plus a container/bag to take away your bakes. *Milling does depend on a number of factors so we cannot absolutely guarantee you’ll see our millers at work but we’ll do our best to make this happen.

    Beginners running courses – Dulwich Park

    Looking for a new hobby .... Want to get fit ...... Seeking new friends. This Saturday morning group has been going for over 25 years, structured and supportive coaching whatever your age or fitness. The 8am and the 9am courses are aimed at those brand new to running. The sessions starts with coach led warm up exercises, followed by a modest run where you will have 1 to 1 support from a running club member so that you can go at your own pace. We return to the coaching area for coach led stretching exercises. The 10am session is aimed at those who have run a 5k in the recent past. This course will support you to increasing your mileage to 5 miles, incorporating a coached hill session, warm up routine and cool down stretching. Most weeks are able to offer 1 on 1 support on your run.

    Introduction to yoga Handstands at Yoga Point Brixton

    Not suitable for absolute beginners; you should have a reasonable level of fitness and regular asana practice. BOOK HERE. Nina Thomas will lead this workshop workshop at Yoga Point. Nina will lead this fun workshop to introduce and develop basic skills to explore handstands and make your way upside down safely. Handstands can help focus the mind, develop strength and build confidence – providing a space to calm the nervous system and reconnect with a sense of play and joy. If you are looking to extend your practice and start incorporating some of the more challenging asana, this is for you. Whether you are just beginning to attempt them, or wish to deepen your current practice, you will be shown the principles and foundations to help you from the ground up. Be prepared to sweat and practice some intermediate to advanced preparatory sequences and drills. We will use props and assists to help support everyone’s different levels of strength, mobility and experience in a playful way.     Spring Equinox Yin Yoga Gong Bath

    Free Trial Session with the Brockwell Swimmers

    Looking to improve your swimming technique and meet fellow swimmers? Join Brockwell Swimmers for our Monday evening sessions at Alleyns School pool, Townley Road, Dulwich SE22 8SU. Each session is led by two qualified instructors who guide swimmers across a range of abilities, from intermediate to masters level. Adults aged 18+ are welcome to take part. We are currently offering one-off Free Trial Sessions—a great way to see what our club is all about. Please note that these trials cannot be deferred.
