    Brockwell FreezeFest 2026

    Get ready for the ultimate winter swimming challenge! On Saturday 24th January 2026, 10am to 1pm, Brockwell Lido will host the first-ever Brockwell FreezeFest cold-water swimming championship open to all. Whether you’re a seasoned ice-miler or regular cold water plodder, this is your chance to join swimmers from across the UK in one of London’s most iconic outdoor pools. Be aware, the water temperature could be as cold as 5°C, or lower. Wetsuits or neoprene will not be allowed. The competition will feature 50m, 100m and 200m individual races, plus a fun 200m four-person team relay. With three age categories in play, everyone has a fair shot at glory. Competitors will also be able to relax and warm up in poolside hot tubs and a sauna, making the day as social and celebratory as it is competitive. There is a £12 registration fee, after which races cost £10 per swim. Don’t miss your chance to be part of a landmark winter swimming event. Entries are open to all, regardless of club affiliation, and spaces are limited.     Introduction to Yoga Inversions at Yoga Point Brixton

    Not suitable for absolute beginners; you should have a reasonable level of fitness and regular asana practice. There is a link to book here. Nina will lead this fun workshop to introduce and develop basic skills to explore accessing arm balances and make your way upside down safely. Inversions help focus the mind, develop strength and build confidence - providing a space to calm the nervous system and reconnect with a sense of play and joy. Arm balances require the same focus and development of strength, body awareness and form the foundations to access inversions. If you are looking to extend your practice and start incorporating some of the more challenging asana, this is for you. Whether you are just beginning to attempt them, or wish to deepen your current practice, you will be shown the principles and foundations to help you from the ground up. Join our hands-on baking class to learn how to make delicious artisan breads. It’s a chance to hone your home bread making skills using our unique stoneground flour from Brixton Windmill.  The class is for a small group with a maximum of 10 participants so you’ll get lots of tips from our teacher Fabio Bettini.  Plus there’s lots of time to ask questions. There’ll also be a chance to pop in to the windmill to see how our volunteer millers make our flour*. This class is suitable for anyone, regardless of age or baking experience (although a little home baking experience might be helpful). All the recipes will be fully explained step by step by our session leader. Refreshments are included during the class.  You may want to bring an apron plus a container/bag to take away your bakes. *Milling does depend on a number of factors so we cannot absolutely guarantee you’ll see our millers at work but we’ll do our best to make this happen.

    Looking for a new hobby .... Want to get fit ...... Seeking new friends. This Saturday morning group has been going for over 25 years, structured and supportive coaching whatever your age or fitness. The 8am and the 9am courses are aimed at those brand new to running. The sessions starts with coach led warm up exercises, followed by a modest run where you will have 1 to 1 support from a running club member so that you can go at your own pace. We return to the coaching area for coach led stretching exercises. The 10am session is aimed at those who have run a 5k in the recent past. This course will support you to increasing your mileage to 5 miles, incorporating a coached hill session, warm up routine and cool down stretching. Most weeks are able to offer 1 on 1 support on your run.
