Our only mid-week event (Event 8) this year will be special. Following on from her Festival sell-out last year in Brockwell Lido, London’s top-ranked #gongbath practitioner @_hushhour_ Alicia Ma Ri Atu Ma takes over a larger space with fabulous acoustics at Herne Hill Baptist Church on Monday, 12 October from 7-8:15pm. A gig or meditation? Both! Musician, sonic artist, nature lover and creative all-rounder, Alicia will provide for an intimate performance and a transformative, immersive #soundscape combining guided #meditation, quantum technology, percussion and voice.

Participants need to bring their own blankets, mats and cushions.

BACKGROUND FOR THE UNINITIATED

Gong baths are like a form of #somatic healing –  impossible to “think your way” into relaxation, especially in our data overload age. Both focus on calming the mind by first working with the body. Alicia will “bathe” you in deep sound vibrations – no prior skill or effort required – which help penetrate reluctance. The complex overtones and rhythmic stimulation from the gongs, bowls and other instruments she employs, will actively guide your brain from active beta waves into relaxed alpha and theta states, before shifting into guided meditation.
