Mambista is back in the summer sun at the Greenhouses this year with an incredible line up of local talent and legendary musicians. Join us in the garden for music, food and drink amongst the flowers. Our first gig of the summer is with Alvorada. Alvorada are the UK’s leading performers of choro – a gorgeous form of instrumental acoustic music from Rio de Janeiro. The band features top musicians from London and Brazil, whose diverse backgrounds – including jazz, classical and Brazilian music – make for a unique and innovative sound. Check out their second album release “Faz Tempo” via alvoradamusic.com. Alvorada are perfect for the ambiance and natural beauty provided by BPCG’s Plum Tree “stage”. One not to miss! Come rain or shine, as we can take shelter in the greenhouse and under marquees if the weather is unkind to us. Join us for a wonderful session of seriously good sounds! BOOK HERE
Come along and enjoy a day of creativity, learning the traditional craft of willow weaving! In this 5 hour workshop you will master weaving techniques and make your very own hanging basket which you can take home at the end of the day. Willow weaving is a traditional method for making all kinds of beautiful baskets and containers using natural materials. There are many varieties of willow and many different coloured stems or ‘rods’. The different coloured rods add an extra layer of decoration to your willow weaving allowing you to weave different coloured patterns into your baskets. In this workshop you will learn the traditional method of willow basket weaving but with a twist. The basket will have a pointy base to transform it into a beautiful hanging basket. Hanging baskets can make an attractive addition to any garden, entranceway, front door or courtyard space, and can be planted up with edible or ornamental plants including our trailing bush tomatoes, Tumbling tom yellow and Tumbling tom red which will be on sale at our shop. All material and tools provided. BOOK HERE
