    The Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses May Fete is back this year on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May! Join us at the Greenhouses for pizza, drinks, and fun and games. Bring your friends to Splat the Rat, dance around the Maypole, enjoy music from the wonderful Brixton Tatterjacks Morris and more! Delicious home-made pizzas cooked in our hand-built cob oven, botanical cocktails, local craft beer and organic wine will be on sale. Book your pizza with your ticket to avoid disappointment. You won’t want to miss this! We put on these events to let people enjoy our lovely gardens and to raise money so that the community can benefit from BPCG seven days a week. BOOK HERE

    Brixton Windmill Open Weekend – 11 & 12 May

    We'll be open from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May to celebrate National Mills Weekend. Full guided tours are available and can be booked here. There will also be free drop in short tours throughout each afternoon. On Saturday afternoon we'll be aiming to get our sails turning - always an exciting experience! On Sunday at 1pm we also run a guided local history walk of the area which is bookable here. Our cafe will be open for delicious home made cakes and our shop is open too for unique gifts and Brixton Windmill Flour. www.brixtonwindmill.org

    Join us for a pre-loved clothing swap and mending session. Bring the clothes you have buried at the back of your wardrobe, pass them on to a new owner and find something for yourself, too. The focus of the event is sustainable fashion, so we will have drop-in mending sessions facilitated by lovely people who can share their skills and tips. Guidelines For the Stitch: This is your chance to fix the clothes you want to keep, but need a little extra love & attention. Friendly helpers will be on hand to guide you - whether it’s sewing up hems, buttons or doing some visible mending. Basic resources will be provided but if you might need anything else (buttons, zips etc), please bring them! For the Switch: Please bring as many items as you like - we welcome clothing of all genders and sizes. You will then receive a token for each piece of clothing you have contributed. From 1:30pm, you will have the opportunity to choose something new - 1 token for each new item. This is a chance to ask your potential MP about their views on the issues that matter to you before the general election in July.     Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses are hosting an art exhibition of nature inspired artwork, from local artists, displayed all around our beautiful venue. Come and immerse yourself in evening of music and art, delicious food and drinks in the surroundings of our enchanting gardens!  Live music from 9pm – artists to be announced shortly Delicious plant based food from Roobarbs will be served throughout the evening – come hungry! And thirsty! We will be serving a delicious selection of local beers and wines as well as special cocktails made from fresh ingredients from our gardens and our homemade fruit gins.     Take a break from the busy London life and join us in the gardens to calm you mind and appreciate the natural world. Many of us struggle with cultivating or maintaining a mindfulness practice. It is, in fact, easier and more natural to practice mindfulness in nature. Nature is a wonderful teacher, helping us more intuitively tap into feelings of peace, joy, and to be more present with the world around us. We also know from recent studies that spending time in nature for even 10 minutes a day has profound impacts on our physiological and emotional wellbeing. So why not start here, with our wonderful gardens (and Deepti) as your guide! Who is this workshop for? Everyone! Whether you are new to meditation and mindfulness or a practitioner who wants to deepen their practice. If you love nature you’ll love this workshop.
