Opening Herne Hill Music Festival 2025 on Friday evening, 10th October at The Half Moon is South London-based jazz singer and songwriter Nel Begley. A graduate of both Leeds Conservatoire and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Nel blends classic jazz influences with a contemporary edge, delivering soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics that captivate audiences. Her band on the night will feature Honey Boulton (one of London’s premier guitarists and banjoists), the remarkably versatile Harry Brunt on saxophone and, on bass, her partner in both music and life, Luke Fowler. Nel will be launching her brand-new album ‘Small Flame’.
