Springtime Embroidery Workshop: Stitching Folklore & Nature

Come stitch your own piece of springtime magic! Relax on a Sunday afternoon, learn simple sewing techniques and connect with the healing plants and rich botanical folklore of Britain!

In this relaxing and creative workshop, we will explore the symbolism and historical uses of four British springtime plants: daffodil, snake’s head fritillary, bluebell, and yarrow. These plants are celebrated for their connections to healing and protection, perfect for the changing of the seasons!

Using simple embroidery techniques, participants will stitch a spring meadow illustration, learning a variety of embroidery stitches such as backstitch, whipped stitch and French knots. The design will be framed within the hoop, allowing you to take home a beautiful, nature-inspired ornament that can be displayed as a decorative piece.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some embroidery experience. All materials will be provided.
