Celebrating The Commercial's refurb; Friends of Carnegie news
It was a bit of a social whirl when The Commercial put on a little party to celebrate their new refurb last week! We met up with new manager Matthew when he came round with a plate of canapes and talked about some of the pub's changes. Definitely pleased with the new Sunday Roast! We also registered lots of renown Herne Hillians in evidence, including new Forum Acting Chair Yan Hawkins (as Giles Gibson has stepped down) Tricia Keracher-Summerfield, Robert Holden of the Herne Hill Society (also local tourguide) and Jeff Doorn of the Friends of the Carnegie Library.
Jeff told us that the Friends must rehouse all of their belongings from the Carnegie by the end of this month - this load will also include overflow from Waterloo and some of the mobile library materials from the Minet.
If you have any ideas, the best way to contact Jeff is via email: email@example.com
Or go along to the Friends' AGM next Thursday and mention them, almost over the road from the Carnegie at St. Saviour's Church Hall, Herne Hill Rd., on 16th March, 6:30pm
