Carnegie Library Sit In from 6pm tonight

Local residents and friends of Carnegie Library will start a sit-in at the library from 6pm tonight to protest against Lambeth's decision to close this much-loved community space.

Following a celebratory party at 4 pm, residents will be staying at the libary for as long as it takes, to prevent its closure. Everyone is welcome to come down and support this cause.

The Carnegie Library has provided learning and inspiration for nearly 110 years, and despite tireless efforts from local campaigners the decision has been taken to turn the space into a gym, with discussions of a small book space in one of the rooms.
