Carnegie Community Trust: update and invitation to join us

The Trust continues discussions with Lambeth about a 75-year lease, an interim licence to occupy, and the details of their Stage Two works contract which includes some new fitting out on the ground floor.

Ongoing works permitting, we expect to gain access to the upper floors in May, to begin meeting with local residents to discuss and plan for future activities, and to look around the ground and first floor rooms as they become accessible, with them and other potential users of the building. This will be an important time to configure the spaces in a manner which will meet the needs and ambitions of the wider community.

We are now also applying for funding for capacity building and early stage implementation of our plans, to include a strong focus on the heritage of the building.

So we are now also looking for new Trustees and would be delighted to hear from you if you would like to consider becoming a Trustee of this challenging and exciting project. We are looking for a range of diverse skills, experience, local knowledge and interests including heritage, local history, community engagement, fund-raising, planning and communications.

If you are not interested in the role of Trustee, but might like to be involved in a Supporter role, again do let us know.

Please send an email to  or ring Frances Lamb on 07976 965536, and we will be in touch.
