On Saturday 24th January 2026\, 10am to 1pm\, Brockwell Lido will host the first-ever Brockwell FreezeFest cold-water swimming championship open to all. Whether you’re a seasoned ice-miler or regular cold water plodder\, this is your chance to join swimmers from across the UK in one of London’s most iconic outdoor pools. Be aware\, the water temperature could be as cold as 5°C\, or lower. Wetsuits or neoprene will not be allowed. \nThe competition will feature 50m\, 100m and 200m individual races\, plus a fun 200m four-person team relay. With three age categories in play\, everyone has a fair shot at glory. Competitors will also be able to relax and warm up in poolside hot tubs and a sauna\, making the day as social and celebratory as it is competitive. There is a £12 registration fee\, after which races cost £10 per swim. \nDon’t miss your chance to be part of a landmark winter swimming event. DESCRIPTION:Designed for children aged 6 – 11 and their grown-ups. \nGet into the festive spirit in this fun and interactive drama workshop for children and their families. \nUsing the themes of Christmas as inspiration we’ll take part in energizing body warmups\, expressive dances and exciting games in a welcoming and inclusive environment. We will use props\, improvisation\, collaboration and our imaginations to learn acting techniques in a group setting. \nThe structure of the day is as follows:\nWelcome\nIcebreaker activities\nBody\, Face\, Voice Warm Ups\nImagination Warm Ups\nGroup improvisation \nThese workshops are designed for children aged 6-11 and their grown-ups. All under 18s must be accompanied by a ticket-holding adult throughout the workshop\, and we encourage everyone to take part together. \nOur Ready\, Set Drama series is led by adults with learning disabilities and drama facilitators from L’Arche and SLT.\nWith thanks to the Beckenham Theatre Trust for their funding towards this venture. \nAbout L’Arche  Drama Group\nOur talented drama group of people with and without learning disabilities meet weekly and creates its productions\, scripts\, costumes and props from scratch.  They have brought their performances and workshops to theatres\, churches\, local community spaces and conferences across London and the UK. \nAbout South London Theatre – Youth Theatre\nSouth London Theatre – Youth Theatre has been part of the community for many years.
