Content: During this short course students will
- explore a variety of thrown mug and jug shapes,
- trim and finish their work and learn how to attach pulled handles.
- Every student can keep up to six pots which will be fired and glazed for you at the end of the course.
Note: This course will not cover the basics of centering, pulling up or trimming. Participants need to be comfortable with these skills before signing up to the course.
About the teacher: Birgit Pohl
- Birgit makes wheel-thrown pots in porcelain from her studio in Forest Hill. She aims to balance precision of form with fluidity in surface decoration, being particularly drawn to European ceramics of the early to mid-20th century.
- Birgit studied at Clay College, Stoke-on-Trent and in November 2022, won Best Thrown Exhibit at the London Potters Annual Members Exhibition.
