Fison Fitness is back with its new look and new classes

If you have never been down to Fison Fitness - 280 Milkwood Road (just by the station) then register on our website to sign in for a free class. We cater to all abilities and welcome everyone. Whether you are stepping into a gym or going to a class for the first time or are a regular gym bunny looking for something new, all our teachers will welcome you and adapt any class around injuries or preferences.

Station Hall is Open!

The amazing new space above Herne Hill Station is open for its inaugural events, starting with an open day on Sunday!

Please come along on Sunday 20th January from 12-3pm. Come upstairs, have some food and get involved - we’d love to hear your ideas or book in your events and will be holding a taster of our programme and activities - with an aim to do this every month. We’re also inviting children to pop up and decorate mugs in the hall with their own logo design.

We are an independent fitness studio based in Herne Hill. We are passionate about helping our local community to achieve their personal goals.

Open letter to Green Party councillor Becca Thackray

Dear Councillor Thackeray

Your leaflet has just been posted through my door, and I was surprised to read in it that you have asked the council to to introduce a car exclusion zone around the school my kids attend - Jessop Primary.

You say this comes from you meeting with parents, which is where I am puzzled. Perhaps some parents would support an exclusion zone, perhaps others would not. The point is neither you nor I know, because we haven’t asked them!

Herne Hill Forum: We're Hiring!

We have a number of exciting new community projects on-the-go, and we need to build a team with varied expertise to deliver them.

Most recently, we have secured funding from Aviva to fund the decoration of the Herne Hill Station Underpass and have also received a grant from the Mayor of London to explore the viability of turning the Station’s ‘lost waiting room’ into a community centre (working title: Station Hall). This is a major project with a fixed deadline and resource-hungry.

About Nyetimber

Good home cooks needed for local charity

Abbeyfield Dulwich is a volunteer-run sheltered home for 7 elderly residents in Stradella Road. We have two permanent housekeepers who provide 2 home-cooked meals a day but we are always looking for local people who are good cooks who have some spare time and who would like to join our roster of 'relief' housekeepers to cover holidays and sickness.
