Brixton Jumble Trail - August Bank Holiday Monday!

Ready for another jumble trail and a late summer clear out? The Brixton Jumble Trail 2015 is next weekend on Bank Holiday Monday, August 31st. While its epicentre is Brixton Hill, it also takes in some of Herne Hill, Tulse Hill and Streatham Hill. Still time to join in and sort out a stall - as of this writing, 10 stalls are confirmed.

Lambeth Wind Orchestra's BESTIARIUM 5th February

Lambeth Wind Orchestra invites you to join them in Tulse Hill at Holy Trinity & St Matthias Church, Trinity Rise, in a one day workshop and concert featuring BESTIARIUM, a brand new nine-movement suite wind orchestra with beastly contributions from today’s top composers for band including:

• Philip Sparke (whale)
• Robert W. Smith (apes)
• Oscar Navarro (fly)
• Bert Appermont (tropical fishes)
• Ferrer Ferran (Tyrannosaurus Rex)

Players of woodwind, brass or percussion instruments (aged 16+ and of minimum Grade 6 standard) are welcome. We will work on BESTIARIUM and other pieces from 9.30am-2.30pm, finishing with a free, informal concert for family, friends and supporters from 3.00-4.15pm. The fee to attend is £8.00. Starting on Feather Mosses - South London Botanical Institute course Wednesdays in Oct

The South London Botanical Institute's course Starting on Feather Mosses will run on Wednesdays in October.
June Chatfield will lead this five-week course on Feather Mosses, large attractive plants from a range of habitats identifiable in the field. She will use brought in samples, leaves and SLBI garden specimens. Booking essential.
