Herne Hill Music Festival is crowdfunding for its 2019 Ruskin bi-centenary musical!

In this bi-centenary year of Herne Hill resident John Ruskin, Herne Hill Music Festival hopes to include a musical based on Ruskin’s only play in its programme. Composer Paul Ayres plans to turn The King of the Golden River by Ruskin into a musical to be performed by St Saviour’s Primary School. However, we need to pay a fee to a professional composer like Paul, and there other costs of the production as well. We have had generous support from the Herne Hill Society and our other business sponsors, but we are still short of £350.

Three Herne Hill Schools sing their hearts out.

Lambeth Schools Music Festival,  which is running 14th to 18th March at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, Clore Ballroom and Queen Elizabeth Hal is a musical highlight for many Lambeth Schools.

Today it was the turn of Lambeth Key Stage 1 children to sing in the Infant Singing Concert at the Royal Festival Hall. More than 800 children took part and among them were choirs from Jessop, Rosendale and St Saviours Primary Schools.
