Lambeth Country Show Air Pollution Action

Please join us at the Lambeth Country Show this weekend to create a sculpture to help raise local awareness of air pollution.

We are collaborating with Red Line Rooftop Gallery and pupils from local primary schools to create a giant artwork, calling on London boroughs, the Mayor of London and national government and businesses to CLEAN OUR AIR.

16 Feet to offer Panto for Schools & Community Venues this Christmas

Herne Hill Neighbourhood Plan public meeting and EGM

What is your vision for Herne Hill over the coming years?

What does it need; housing, transport, environment, amenities, planning, economy?

Herne Hill is developing a Neighbourhood Plan that will be the blueprint for how development can take place in the local area. The Neighbourhood Plan is written by the local residents and traders who live in the area, thats you!

The meeting on the 27th is the start, getting your ideas, priorities and contributions that will make up the Neighbourhood Plan. It will be a hands-on event, everyone able to contribute.

Noye's Fludde is Music Festival Finale today (Sun. 19th) 6pm!

Benjamin Britten and original production, 1958

Nearly Festival finale! That's Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde at 6pm today - the Herne Hill Music Festival's community opera! And appropriate too for an area affected by flooding for so long! Noyes' Fludde means Noah's Flood. The project took a long time for the Festival team to get going - hard work fundraising, then more fundraising, then organising and rehearsing. Then costumes and props! Based on a 13thC Mystery Play, Britten wrote it to be performed in a church hall by amateur performers, particularly children, so local schools (JAGS and Rosendale) as well as local musicians are involved.

HHMF's Britten Opera Fundraiser - can you help?

Herne Hill Music Festival's crowdfunding campaign is underway to source an additional £1000 to help pay for staging of Benjamin Britten's opera, 'Noye's Fludde' (1957) in October. The Festival has a grant but needs to raise more money equal to the same amount! You can donate through gogetfunding http://gogetfunding.com/project/noye-s-fludde or through the Festival website at http://www.hernehillfestival.org/. This is a community opera based on the story of Noah’s Ark and on a 15th-century mystery play. It remains one of Britten's most engaging works as he wrote it for amateurs, especially children, in order to enjoy planning, rehearsing, performing and generally making music together.
