Herne Hill Music Festival needs leafleting help!

The Herne Hill Music Festival begins on the 11th of October with Stan Tracey at the Jazz On The Hill. Artists are lined up ... but we still need to get more leaflets out! This is the 2nd Fest year. Help us get to a third by mucking in with a wee bit of leafleting in a patch near you. If you can spare some time, contact Alan Taylor at:  MusicalDirector@hernehillfestival.org

Friends of Brockwell Park opposes two major 2018 events in Brockwell Park

The Committee of the Friends of Brockwell Park (FOBP), at a special meeting held on 4 December, unanimously decided to oppose applications for two major events, proposed for summer 2018, as being of a scale wholly unsuited to a small urban park such as Brockwell.

The FOBP’s principal objections to Field Day/The Mighty Hoopla (1-3 June) and Love Box/Citadel (13-15 July) being allowed to come to Brockwell Park are:

FoBP statement on Lambeth's events plan for Brockwell Park

Friends of Brockwell Park has fought for the integrity of the park for more than 30 years: we were founded to oppose a floodlit running track on the Tulse Hill side. We completely rejected Lambeth’s long-term events ‘strategy’ of eight major events in Brockwell Park per summer as completely unsustainable by the community and ecology of this small urban park.

Herne Hill Music Festival's upcoming Mozart opera - tix now on sale

Tickets now on sale for Opera At Home's production of Mozart's The Abduction from the Seraglio (1781) which will be staged on 12th October at the Half Moon for the Herne Hill Music Festival. This rendition is set in a distorted present time. Personal freedom, the control over female sexuality and the tyranny of love appear as recurrent themes through the opera, with a delightful surprise end turning around our preconceptions.
