Lambeth Country Show

Could the beloved Lambeth Country Show be self-sustaining?

It is argued that Lovebox and Field Day festivals are needed to make up for the £360,000 loss generated by the Lambeth Country Show. Could this loss be avoided?

One of the main justifications offered by Lambeth for staging the mega festivals Lovebox and Field Day in Brockell Park is that they need to make up for the huge loss which results from hosting the Lambeth Country Show. Apparently it costs £690,000 to put on and brings in roughly £332,000 in income, leaving a shortfall of £358,000.

Update on Brockwell Park Events 2018

Further details have been confirmed in a written response to Chuka Umunna MP by Lambeth Council regarding the proposals for holding the Field Day/TheMighty Hoopla (1-3 June) and Lovebox/Citadel (13-15 July) festivals in Brockwell Park in 2018.

Brockwell Park Events Strategy - The Facts

What do Pete Townshend, Madness, Paul Weller, Sham 69 (pictured), The Damned, and Elvis Costello have in common? They’ve all played to tens of thousands of people in Brockwell Park. 150,000 people already attend a popular summer festival held every year in the Park – the Lambeth Country Show. The estimated attendance for events across Lambeth’s parks and open spaces each year is currently around a million people, with around 65% coming from outside of the borough.

Lambeth Country Show 2017 - Prohibited Items

The Lambeth Country Show is this weekend - Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July. The graphic here represents a list of what you can't bring into Brockwell Park. Lambeth Country Show cancelled

Lambeth have announced that there will not be a country show this year due to the Olympics.

As it would have taken place a few days before the start of the Olympics it would have put too much pressure on the emergency services.
