We're working on a Festival Music Trail! Progress so far:

The Festival got off to a flying start on Friday at a sold-out Prince Regent with Django jazz from locals The Crispy Hot Club followed by ace blues stalwarts Steve Morrison and Alan Glen.

Saturday a super busy day - Fest's busiest - beginning with The Calton String Quartet at the Carnegie Library in Herne Hill Road for string classics at lunchtime and snacks laid on by Carnegie Friends.

First of 2 Herne Hill Bandstands Sept 1st! Crystal Palace Band + Andrea Trillo + Ingham Swing!

If you have the flood blues or are just keen to be outside for local live music, you'll be pleased to hear that the Herne Hill Music Festival is putting on two free Herne Hill Market Square bandstand music dates on Sept 1st and 8th! On the 1st it will be the Crystal Palace Band + Andrea Trillo Trio + Ingham Swing Ensemble, from 11-3pm. Herne Hill Sunday Market News & Trader Tales ... for Oct 14th!

We had another couple of entertaining sets from Jazz Union (aka Ingham Swing Ensemble) at Jazz On The Hill for Sunday lunchtime, which actually filled up a lot just as the market was wrapping! A later start than usual but very nice once it got going. Great hearing some of the traders ask "where is the music!?"

Especially Elaine the Flower Lady who in the pic below says I LOVE HERNE HILL! Please notice her 100+ year old family flower cart which sits just outside the shop. She started out in London on it! The Flower Lady comes from a long family line of florists, originally hailing from Portsmouth.
