Herne Hill Free Film Festival

Free Films in Herne Hill this May

The Herne Hill Free Film Festival is coming back to South London in 2018 with 21 free films this May, across a range of venues in SE24. The festival runs from the 1st May to 1st June with a programme that includes some of the biggest and most critically acclaimed films from the past year, screenings with a strong connection to the local area and a handful of lesser known films that should be on everyone’s cinematic bucket list!

Wonderful Winter Solstice closer for HHFFF

In Pursuit of Silence was the wonderful Winter Solstice closing film for Herne Hill Free Film Festival's special '12 Films of Christmas' season and it screened at a fabulous venue too, the South London Botanical Institute in Norwood Road.

Street Piano Film Instrument of Change is near completion

Street Piano Film Instrument of Change - is a 50 min music documentary - some of the main characters are the Herne Hill Piano, Jools Holland, James Rhodes, Chas Hodges and many street players. We are all local film makers and are about half way through production. Be great to get some local Producer contact/help/advice on board for the last lap to help us get some completion funding - would you like to help?

Grand Budapest Hotel Screening

As part of the programme for this year's Herne Hill Free Film Festival, The Grand Budapest Hotel was screened at Brockwell Park Lido on the 9th May.

Herne Hill Free Film Festival back in town this May!

Following on from the success of 2014, the volunteer run and entirely free Herne Hill Free Film Festival (HHFFF) is back for throughout May 2015.

This year sees Station Square audiences hoot to Peter Sellers and Alec Guinness in The Ladykillers (1955), the Herne Hill Velodrome come to life with the Dardenne’s The Kid With a Bike (2011) and Brockwell Lido bathed in pastel for Wes Anderson’s sublime The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). The festival culminates in Brockwell Park with the utterly bodacious cult classic Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989)!

BPCP says 'Labyrinth' screening "most successful community event ever put on in the park"

Great crowd on hand for Herne Hill Free Film Festival's finale 'Labyrinth' in Brockwell Park - you could just about imagine Jim Henson's labyrinth just beyond the walled garden walls ... and big cheers for The Thin White Duke when he appeared on-screen! Brockwell Park Community Partners calling it the most successful community event ever put on in the park with 800 people on the slope and donations of £600 collected towards the MADD (Music Art, Drama and Dance) Programme. The Herne Hill Free Film Festival is on! April thru June!

It's official. Herne Hill now has its very own Free Film Festival!

Thanks to a grant from Film London and assistance from the Herne Hill forum, Herne Hill is now able to run a free film festival, running from April 19 - June 15 2013. Film London has enabled the HHFFF to put on a core of five outdoor screenings in iconic landmarks of Herne Hill, programme and timings to follow....

HHFFF invites anyone else who would like to organise a free film screening themselves in a venue in SE24 to get in contact with us during February. We will include the event under the HHFFF 'umbrella' and include it in our publicity and promotion.

If you would like to get involved, come to a meeting on Thurs 7 Feb in the Prince Regent at 8pm, 69 Dulwich Rd SE24 0NJ

Come along and let's make this FFF...fffantastic!
