T-Shirt Day Outside the Half Moon

On Friday 27 November, a group of local residents braved the damp weather to join the ‘Save the Half Moon’ campaign outside the Half Moon Pub on Half Moon Lane for an early morning photocall. To mark BBC Radio  6 Music’s #TShirtDay, people had been encouraged to dust off their favourite band t-shirt to help the campaign to raise public awareness of the rich legacy of live music at the pub.

Herne Hill Fest News - Sarah Moule pops by St Faith's ... and gets a pic with Alan Taylor!

Jazz/blues/cabaret singer Sarah Moule brings her well-reviewed and ecletic one-woman show Femmes Fatales to the Herne Hill Music Festival in the "late night" jazz slot at the Half Moon Pub on Friday the 19th, 10:30pm start. Hopefully with Simon Wallace on keys! Anyway, she'll be doing songs by Teddy Thompson, Ida Cox, Fran Landesman & Simon Wallace, Jacques Prévert, Nellie Lutcher, Cole Porter and Leiber & Stoller. Sarah came by St Faith's before FifteenB Consort's performance on Saturday night to say hi & drop off some flyers ... and we took this photo of Sarah with her Half Moon flyer, and another with Festival Director Alan Taylor! Sweet!

Pull The Other One's Herne Hill Comedy Fest, Sept 14th @ the Half Moon

As a comedy night production team, Pull The Other One has been around a while now putting on shows in a wide variety of venues, from The Ivy House in Nunhead (where I think I first saw them), to Tenants Hall in Rye Lane, Hooper's Bar in Camberwell ... and now going steady at the Half Moon Pub in Herne Hill. PTOO bill their nights as "comedy, extravagance, and variety" and their Herne Hill Comedy Festival, set for Friday Sept 14th, should be just that! You can find out more about PTOO and upcoming shows on their website: http://www.ptoocomedy.com/

We spotted this their portable little billboard today in the arcade on the Milkwood Road side of Herne Hill train station. Nice!
