Emotions ran high as former CEO of UK Athletics Dave Moorcroft led a structured two hour Athletics focus group at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre (NSC) recently. It was part of the latest consultation by the Greater London Authority (GLA) to plan the NSC’s long term future, where track and field at one of the most iconic venues in the world is sitting on a knife edge!

As British track and field athletes prepare for the first meets of the season this weekend (April 18th), the long-term future of athletes based in South London continues to remain in doubt. 

Herne Hill's South London Makerspace secures maximum funding from the GLA's High Street Fund

Yesterday was an exciting day for Herne Hill's non-profit members run workshop, South London Makerspace.  They hosted an event where Daniel Moylan, chair the Mayor’s Design Advisory Group, announced the funding for the GLA High Street Fund.  The funding will enable Makerspace to proceed with phase two of their project, the purchase of some important tools, build new workshop space and install proper ventillation and heat recovery system.  For more information follow the link or read more about the High Street Fund in Lambeth at Brixton Blog.
