Friends of Ruskin Park’s Summer Fete has just gone but never fear loads more on through the summer with the Summer Music programme on the Ruskin Park bandstand 3-5pm many Saturdays through September 16th! Basically every Saturday through the third week of September but excluding all of August. Next up is City Lit Band on July 1st and then a double bill of SELFolk and London Saxophone Choir on July 8th. The concerts are free, sponsored by Lambeth Council, and are selected and booked for us by Sharon Moloney from Making Music.

The photography competition in 2017 has two sections, one 'Open To All Ages' and the other for 'Under 16's'

All the details of the competition are on our website www.friendsofruskinpark.org.uk , including the online entry form.

So get busy while we have wonderful Spring light and colour, and a really beautiful Ruskin Park to take photographs of.

10 years since the Ruskin Park Bandstand re-opened

Its been 10 years since the Ruskin Park Bandstand was re-opened. The Friends of Ruskin Park with Kings College Hospital are celebrating this anniversary with an early evening concert. The Ruskin Park Concert Band, led by the larger than life John Holland, will provide the music and you can join in with the singalong parts.

Want to know anything about the new helipad on top of KCH. Come along and find out.

Refreshments available from 5.30 and the music kicks off at 6pm. You could of course bring your own picnic.

Friends of Ruskin Park AGM

The Friends of Ruskin Park are holding their Annual General Meeting on Sept 29th, upstairs in The Cambria pub in Kemerton Rd, just off Herne Hill Road.

The meeting starts at 7.30 but why not come along at 7.00, grab a drink from the bar then come upstairs where we will have some lovely snacks for your delectation.

The Ruskin Park Cafe is open for business from Wed 16th May.

Situated between the playground and the paddling pool, the ladies will serve hot drinks in recyclable cups as well as an array of tasty food offerings such as British farm-sourced bacon sandwiches, fishfinger sandwiches and halloumi wraps.

There will be healthy snack pots for kids and at some point home-made doggy snacks for the dog walkers amongst us!

Magda and Gaia are having a trial "tea" run this weekend. Pop by and say hello but do bear in mind that coffee and food won't start until Wednesday.

The cafe will initially open at 10.30am, closing around 6pm in the evening. This may change at a later date.
