Do you love the Herne Hill Piano?

If you love the Herne Hill piano...

You are invited to a special screening of the Documentary film Instrument of Change: Street Piano.

The Herne Hill piano inspired Maureen Ni Fiann and Tom Rochester to spend three years making a documentary film about street pianos.

It is finished now - had its world premiere in South Korea, and won an award in Los Angeles.

It will have its first London screening on Sat Dec 9th at Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, Holborn.

New documentary follows local runner Alice Parker

Local filmmaker Sue Carpenter has just completed a short documentary film, Alice and Nana, shot partly in Brockwell Park and Dulwich Park. It follows local runner Alice Parker, a teacher at Dulwich College, as she trains for the longest run of her life, the 106km ultramarathon around the Isle of Wight, on 30th April, in aid of Mind the mental health charity. She is undertaking this gruelling challenge in memory of her cousin Nana, who died tragically in a fire last year after suffering from schizophrenia for years.

Street Piano Film Instrument of Change is near completion

Street Piano Film Instrument of Change - is a 50 min music documentary - some of the main characters are the Herne Hill Piano, Jools Holland, James Rhodes, Chas Hodges and many street players. We are all local film makers and are about half way through production. Be great to get some local Producer contact/help/advice on board for the last lap to help us get some completion funding - would you like to help?

Upcoming Herne Hill Free Film Festival fare

Make a film in a day - free!

Do you fancy yourself as a filmmaker? A camera person? A TV presenter?

Are you aged between 10 and 25?

Do you live in Herne Hill?

If the answer is yes to all of those questions, contact me charlotte@hernehillforum.org.uk and you could be one of the lucky ten young people who learn how to make a film in a day.

The Herne Hill forum, working in conjunction with the Clapham Film Unit http://claphamfilmunit.com/category/film/, has two free sessions, one on Sunday 17 February and a follow up on Saturday 23 February. You will have to commit to both these sessions, the first at 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning in Railton Road, SE24, and the other in Clapham.

Showtime presents Pop Up Film

In 2012, the Greater London Authority is producing a fantastic programme of outdoor events that will stretch across the length and breadth of the capital. The centrepiece is SHOWTIME – a seven week festival taking the best British and international outdoor work to town centres, parks and squares across all 33 boroughs.  We would like both Lambeth & Southwark communities to be involved.
