Brockwell Park Clock Tower Appeal nearing target

£18,467 has been raised so far toward the £20,000 target to restore the clocktower. This includes match-funding and gift-aid. The Clock and its Tower 'Little Ben' were donated to Brockwell Park in 1897 by local MP Charles Ernest Tritton, in honour of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. After 100 years the clock stopped. The Park wants to repair and restore the clock and its tower in the Diamond Jubilee year of Queen Elizabeth. If you can help seal the deal, go to http://www.brockwellpark.com/ and click on the clock! Or directly donate at https://www.datanetsecure.com/brockwellparkcom/clocktower/

Brockwell Park events - Bat Walk & Chalk the Walk!

Family events in Brockwell Park this weekend and next!

Another Brockwell Park Bat Walk! Sat. 31st August. Meet at the Clock Tower at 7.30pm for a walk down to the ponds to find bats. Again led by the very enthusiastic Dr Iain Boulton who will bring bat detectors. Free, no need to book. See adjacent photo from last year's Bat Walk in the park. Information: bats@brockwellpark.com

And don't forget today August 25th (weather permitting) it is Chalk the Walk, also in Brockwell Park. This is the annual open air Chalk Fest. Decorate park paths with creation from your imagination! Free & all welcome; 1-4pm near the Clock Tower.

Next Brockwell Park bat walk Sept 8th

There will be another Brockwell Park batwalk on Sat. Sept 8th. Just like the last one, starting at the clock tower at 7:15pm, then going down to the ponds. Dr Iain Boulton will again lead - he's both very interesting and very well-informed. And tremendously fun! He'll again bring bat detectors (highly sensitive high-frequency microphones and amplifiers) for people to use.

Brockwell Park Bat Walk - Thursday 23rd August 2012

Brockwell Park Bat Walk!

Meet 7:45pm at the Clock Tower and we'll all walk down to the ponds where the bats will be waiting for us. Wear sensible shoes and dress for the weather. Children are welcome, but no dogs please.

The walk will take about an hour and will be led by Dr Iain Boulton who is bats about bats! Last year's walk was completely fascinating.

Iain will bring bat detectors (highly sensitive high-frequency microphones and amplifiers) for you to use.
