What’s most important for our local community centre?

St Faith’s is a vibrant community centre at the heart of our neighbourhood and we’d love your views about how to make it  an even better place to meet, learn and relax.

Situated at the bottom of Red Post Hill (just along the road from The Charter School), we offer groups and activities for all ages and interests. These include an older people’s art group, ballet classes, toddler drop-in sessions and a men’s group. We’ve got a beautiful hall for wedding receptions and parties and a big garden to explore nature.

The Kindness of Strangers

The Kindness of Strangers

Setting up Fison Fitness has had its trials and tribulations. The extraordinary thing about life, and setting up a business, is that when you think you are heading for disaster someone always turns up at just the right moment to help you out.

The most important part of the studio re vamp was to install in a new floor. After lots of research I selected my floor and ordered it.

Revamped Studio This September to Shape up Herne Hill

Anne Fison’s smiley face, bouncy blonde pony-tail and infectious attitude towards our community well-being will be familiar to many in Herne Hill. For those of you yet to meet her, the opening of Fison Fitness Ltd is an opportunity to be inspired by Anne’s inclusive, fun fitness vision and join Herne Hill’s health revolution.

Herne Hill Life Drawing - new course at The Prince Regent & an auction at Pullens!

In case you haven't noticed, life drawing classes have taken off like a rocket in SE London over the last year, with Bespoke life drawing now being hosted at various venues, plus plenty of other new classes becoming routinely established, very often in pubs!

Life drawing involves drawing the human figure from observation of a live model. In most cases this involves a nude model who is paid to pose. If you've seen the 2006 film "Venus" written by Hanif Kureishi and starring Peter O'Toole, you'll remember he finds co-star Jodie Whittaker a job as a life model. HE: "You said you wanted to be a model!" SHE: "But not take my clothes off!" Or something to that effect.

These days life modeling is a thriving business, in fact moneymagpie ran a feature on it!  http://www.moneymagpie.com/article/make-money-as-a-life-model
