Cambria Choir, open rehearsals coming up

Cambria Choir Open Rehearsals, Monday September 9th and 16th

Hello!

We're a friendly, mixed ability, gender and ages choir, singing a wide range of pop music. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7.15 until 9pm, costing £5 per week. The Cambria pub is situated on the corner of Kemerton Road, Herne Hill/Camberwell, SE5. We rehearse upstairs.

We've been running for almost 3 years now, under the co-directorship of Sarah Fisher and Lucy Harrower (nee Davies).

From September 2013, Lucy will be on maternity leave. Sarah will take the first two rehearsals on September 9th and September 16th. Then every other week, you will be treated to different singing workshops from visiting choir directors, specialising in  a wide range of music. Sessions remain only £5. Every other week Sarah will direct, building our repertoire for the Christmas concert.

Christmas Cambria Choir concerts - today, tomorrow, and Thursday

TODAY AT THE HERNE HILL MARKET  from 2pm, the Cambria Choir will be making good use of the piano, and the good folks from Poet's Corner will be handing out carol sheets for a singalong.

If you're not about for then, come to the Cambria tomorrow night, for our official Christmas gig. Free entry. It's always packed so you might want to bag a table a little earlier.

And our final gig of the year will be on Thursday, 20th December at the Commercial pub, opposite Herne Hill Station.

Then we'll be taking a well deserved rest until January!

This Monday, Cambria Choir opens its doors to new members

After taking August off, the Cambria Choir returns to its weekly rehearsals this Monday evening.

We are a non-auditioning, mixed, four-part choir, singing a wide variety of songs, arranged by our directors, Sarah Fisher and Lucy Davies.

If you have been thinking about joining a choir, then come along to try it out. Our doors are open to new members this Monday and next - that's the 3rd and 10th September. Come along to the Cambria pub, at 7.15, in the upstairs function room.

Sessions cost £5 payable each week. We regularly gig locally and sometimes further afield. There's a really nice mix of people and ages, with a strong community spirit.

The address: Cambria pub, 40 Kemerton Road, SE5 9AR.

The Cambria Choir's free "end of term" concert

The Cambria choir now has over 40 members, and are singing their seasonal concert at the Cambria this Monday evening. It's free of charge and proves hugely popular.

Conducted and arranged by Sarah Fisher and Lucy Davies, the choir are sounding rather fantastic, in preparation for their entry at the Choir of the Year. If you want to eat whilst watching, book a table in advance by calling the Cambria. Expect a varied (and enthusiastic!) programme, from rousing ballads to uplifting pop anthems.

This Monday (14th May) from 8.30pm.

The Cambria Choir resumes Business as Usual

After a month off, the Cambria Choir resumes rehearsals on Monday at 7.15pm.

We practise in the Cambria, on Kemerton Road, SE5. A fee of £5 is payable each week.

We are a non-auditioning community choir, and currently have a few spaces. If you'd like to join, please don't turn up but email lucydavies94@gmail.com letting us know your voice type if you know it (high female, low female, high man, low man, or SATB).

We're a friendly, diverse lot, and get asked to do exciting things like local events and festivals, and we've been known to sing with Hazel O Connor more than once...
