RCA Art Workshop

Royal College of Art (RCA) students are holding a free outdoor workshop for children at Cressingham Gardens this Saturday 24th May, 12:00-15:00. All are welcome!  It should be a lovely afternoon of creativity.

The RCA students have been doing a project on Connected Kindness, sponsored by Blackberry, on Cressingham Gardens.  You may have seen some of their creative design ideas on display if you walked past/through Cressingham Gardens during the weekend of the Big Dig. The students enjoyed their time in the community so much, they have come back to do this art workshop.  A great opportunity for those budding artists out there who want some tips and guidance.

HHMF's Britten Opera Fundraiser - can you help?

Herne Hill Music Festival's crowdfunding campaign is underway to source an additional £1000 to help pay for staging of Benjamin Britten's opera, 'Noye's Fludde' (1957) in October. The Festival has a grant but needs to raise more money equal to the same amount! You can donate through gogetfunding http://gogetfunding.com/project/noye-s-fludde or through the Festival website at http://www.hernehillfestival.org/. This is a community opera based on the story of Noah’s Ark and on a 15th-century mystery play. It remains one of Britten's most engaging works as he wrote it for amateurs, especially children, in order to enjoy planning, rehearsing, performing and generally making music together.
