Double Water Polo fun for July

The lido management have agreed to one additional Water Polo session giving us double the fun for July. The first takes place Monday 18th July and the second on Tuesday 26th July, so make a note in your diary.

Both sessions start at 8pm, or you can come early to help us set up the goals at 7:40pm. As usual the 1 hour sessions will be led by our wonderful coach Jim who will explain the rules of the game before some basic drill in the water and then a game or two. All ages and abilities are welcome and the more the merrier so please bring a friend.

The Jungle Book

New documentary follows local runner Alice Parker

Local filmmaker Sue Carpenter has just completed a short documentary film, Alice and Nana, shot partly in Brockwell Park and Dulwich Park. It follows local runner Alice Parker, a teacher at Dulwich College, as she trains for the longest run of her life, the 106km ultramarathon around the Isle of Wight, on 30th April, in aid of Mind the mental health charity. She is undertaking this gruelling challenge in memory of her cousin Nana, who died tragically in a fire last year after suffering from schizophrenia for years.

Brockwell Park Explored

Come along and see Brockwell Park in a whole new light with Dance Umbrella's Walking Stories in October.

You don't come to see Walking Stories, you and 20 other participants create Walking Stories.   It's very straightforward.  Simply follow the instructions on your headset, wander around Brockwell Park creating patterns as you go, and lose yourself in the music and the words.  During the course of the next hour you will be inspired, exhilarated and soothed.  It gives you an hour to completely zone out of daily life.
