All change at Blackfriars: Last chance to have your say

The terminating bay platforms at Blackfriars.

The Department for Transport has asked for your opinions on the proposed changes to our Thameslink train service that include terminating our Wimbeldon/Sutton loop trains at Blackfriars. Upon implementation, you will no longer have direct service to all stations to Bedford including:

Save Thameslink Services!

There are plans to terminate the Thameslink service south of Blackfriars Station – that’s the Wimbledon Loop through Streatham, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction.

The through-service on this line has been running for more than 20 years and has been the reason many people have chosen to live in these areas. Removing it will cause great inconvenience and longer journeys for hundreds of residents and over-crowding at Blackfriars where people will have to change to access Farringdon, St Pancras and beyond.

If you are against this there is an e-petition on Lambeth’s website opposing these plans.  Go to:

Direct Trains May End: Thameslink Programme
