Ahead of its move to a permanent home in Raleigh Hall, Brixton next year, the Black Cultural Archives (BCA), in association with the Friends of Brockwell Park (FOBP), is giving the public a rare opportunity to view some of its treasures over five days in Brockwell Hall, Brockwell Park, Lambeth, from Wednesday October 5 to Sunday October 9.
This exhibition showcases a selection of the documents, objects and photographs that make up the BCA's important collection that has been developed over 30 years. As a mark of continuity, the fibre glass statue of 'Erzulie' by George Fowokan Kelly that adorned the original BCA at 378 Coldharbour Lane forms a centrepiece of the exhibition. A model of its successor will also be on show.
