Rosendale Primary School Chamber Choir have made it through to the category finals of the BBC choir of the year competition. They are one of four childrens choirs to get this far.
Four choirs in each category will perform Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on 6 October 2012. There will be two shows - the Children and Open Finals and the Youth and Adult Finals. Judges will select one winner in each category. Together with two 'Wildcards' selected from the remaining finalists, the four category winners will compete at the Grand Final.
The chamber choir, made up of girls from years 5 and 6, have worked very hard to get this far, starting school early to rehearse. They recently performed in the Dulwich Music Festival at Kingsdale School, where they got a standing ovation.
Well done girls and a big congratulations to Kate Wright, Head of Creative Development at Rosendale.
Hear them in action early in the year in Buxton.
