Reconnect local school children with nature

I run a local garden design and maintenance company, called Sprout Up. However when I’m not doing that I work with local schools, nurseries and community clubs to help get children excited, engaged and inspired by nature. After all, the future of our planet may depend on them deciding that it’s worth fighting for.

With this in mind, I recently started a project called ‘Believe in Tomorrow’. The aim is to reconnect children with nature, starting with a series of gardening workshops for south London primary schools and culminating in the creation of a show garden at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. After the event, different elements of the garden will be relocated to all the schools and communities that helped to build it – giving them permanent access to nature, and all the health and wellness benefits that come with it.

I’ve secured initial funding from the RHS and some very generous suppliers, which is a step in the right direction, but to make up the rest I’ve decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign. You can check it out here:

Crowdfunder is a fab online funding tool that means I can ask people or companies to support my project with money, in exchange for rewards. But with just 10 days left on the campaign and most the exciting rewards snapped up I’m asking local companies whether they would help me raise the funds by donating something I can offer as a reward.

Thanks for reading, and even if you can’t support the campaign by contributing a reward, please consider sharing it with your friends or peers so I spread the message as far as possible.
