'Unlock' unlocked: an unmissable summer learning programme for Lambeth young people
Do you know a young person with potential, who's unmotivated and fed up with traditional learning? Then you need to know about Unlock and you need to act now.
Unlock is the creative solution to summer boredom. It’s going to be a positive and inspiring learning experience, that will develop hidden talents and create confidence.
Why is Unlock different?
“It's not school” says Shaff Prabatani, Lambeth Made Coordinator, “Everyone learns their own way. They need to be taught that way. Unlock will do that, plus they'll get a mentor to provide one-to-one support from start to finish. Opportunities like these don't come around often!”
Learning is via upbeat interactive online chat and courses are led by experts; recording artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, activists and youth workers. Some courses have qualifications attached and all learners get advice on moving on into more learning, training or even work.
When? Recruitment is now and closes on Friday 26 June. Courses start early July and run 2 or 3 days a week for 6 to 10 weeks.
Who? Unlock is for all 15 to 18 year olds living in Lambeth, but it's targeted at those with no plans for school or college in September.
Referring onto Unlock is easy. Just help the young person you’re referring to complete the online application at Unlock. Get them to tell us why they want to do the course they’ve chosen. Then complete the referral form telling us why you think that's the course for them and how you will support them to succeed.
Recruitment closes on Friday 26 June. Places are limited and places are first come first served!
