Applications are invited for a Part time site officer to work for 12 hours a week, at the site on a variety of tasks; including site and building maintenance, liaising with the committee, admin assistant, plot holders and hirers of the Community building, and undertaking some administrative work.
Applicants should have: some familiarity with allotments or similar endeavours; an ability to relate sensitively to a diverse range of plot holders, and provide advice where necessary; good DIY competence, and an ability to undertake physical work on the site; administrative efficiency and familiarity with the use of IT ; the willingness to think strategically about how the site and the Association can be developed over time ; good communication skills.
The position involves flexible hours spread over 2 -3 weekdays and alternate weekends. The pay is at the London Living Wage, currently £9.75 an hour

Part time Administrative Assistant’s position - fixed term, from April 1st to 30th September 2017
Running this large allotment site involves a lot of administrative work, much of which is currently done by committee members, unpaid, or by the site officers. The committee has decided to recruit a part time administrative assistant to assist with these tasks for 5 hours a week at £12 an hour. There will be a probationary period for one month at the start of the appointment.
The position covers a range of tasks including: office administration; record management, updating data bases, minute taking; dealing with telephone inquiries and correspondence; helping with financial matters and book keeping .and liaising with plot holders, committee members and hirers of the Community building.
Applicants should have :some administrative experience, be good at planning and organising; possess good communication skills and an ability to self- manage and show initiative ; and a range of skills to help to strengthen the work of the Association and contribute to the committee’s efficiency.
