St. Jude's Primary raises £314 for Farm Africa
A big congratulations to St.Jude's C of E Primary School in Poet's Corner for raising an impressive £314 for international development charity Farm Africa.
The Year 3 children were inspired to organise a fundraising Suasage Sizzle after learning about Farm Africa when St. Jude's organised an African Welly Walk to raise money for the charity.
Jones, the Butcher on Dulwich Road kindly donated 200 sausages, which were sold along with drinks and ice lollies. There was also a Farm Africa information stall and tombola. The event was a roaring success, with the sun shining and many coming back for second helpings.
Farm Africa is a leading international development charity that reduces poverty by unleashing the ability of farmers across eastern Africa to grow more, sell more and sell for more. They apply practical approaches to development, providing inputs, tools and expertise to enable farmers to double or triple their yields.
Farm Africa helps farmers to become more resilient to the effects of climate change and to access markets so they can increase their income and build sustainable businesses. They work closely with communities, the private sector and governments to make sure they find the most effective ways to sustain natural resources, increase food production and help end Africa’s need for aid.
