Public meeting: Planning the future of the Bath Factory Estate - Wednesday 19th April
The Herne Hill Forum has asked Southwark Council planners to attend an open meeting with local residents and business owners to discuss the future of the Bath Factory Estate and their vision.
The meeting is on:
Wednesday 19 April
7pm start (6.30pm for tea and coffees)
Herne Hill Baptist Church
Corner of Half Moon Lane and Winterbrook Road
Please join us and spread the word as we’d love to have as many attendees as possible to ensure the council engage with us all and hear our requirements.
As you may be aware, Southwark Council is at consultation phase over all of the development sites across the borough for the New Southwark Plan. Specifically relevant to Herne Hill residents is the significant piece of land and properties that run between the railway bridge at the bottom of Half Moon Lane and all the way to Rosedale Road, facing onto Brockwell Park as Norwood Road and backing onto the railway line. This area is the Bath Factory Estate and has been highlighted as a development opportunity for further residential as well as commercial properties. You can read more here. The formal deadline for feedback is 28 April.
Southwark Council has said that it is in early stage consideration for them and would like to discuss and hear views on the site for your members. It is clear that there is a lot of interest locally to ensure that any expansion is done with sensitivity and that it doesn’t get turned into a high density, high rise area, but stays within the current style and existing low rise landscape.
