Pop-Up Shop for Refugees Welcome: Donate items at Station Hall
Lambeth Refugees Welcome are having a pop up shop for refugee families in Station Hall on Sunday 3rd March, and are seeking donations from local residents in the run-up.
The families they support have all come from Syria or elsewhere in the Middle East. They have found homes for them but they continue to need clothes and household items.
If anyone is able to offer clothes in good condition they would be very grateful. The children are all ages from new born babies to older teenagers. also adults. They’d be especially grateful for warm clothes - coats, anoraks or jumpers, as well as clothes for the children to wear day to day.
The children are also always grateful for toys and books in good condition.
The group furnishes houses for the families, including the kitchens. If you are able to offer items please let them know, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have smaller items which would help make a home more welcoming - ornaments, vases, bowls etc - we’d be glad to offer them to the families on 3 March, but they only have very limited storage space for larger items.
On Sunday 3 March afternoon Lambeth Welcomes Refugees are inviting the families to come and choose clothes and household items to take away for free. They choose what they like and need, which is a more effective and dignified way to support them.
They will also offer tea, coffee and cake and a chance to be sociable, so do come and join us, bringing cake if you can.
If you have items to donate please bring them to Station Hall Herne Hill on Saturday 2 March, or Sunday morning before midday. If you can help sort and display items on Sunday morning we’d be very grateful.
