Local social enterprise BluePatch.org supports the Carnegie with an exhibition ‘Pleasure & Beauty*’ designed to attract visitors to step inside and help save this magnificent Library by doing two critical things:
- Join the library
- Come up with ideas for the newly available "hire spaces" that will entertain, educate and enlighten locals and provide revenue to keep the library open.
The Carnegie Library is Lambeth’s dream space, generously proportioned rooms, bathed in transcendental light, a secret garden – the ultimate ‘feng shui’ – you can forget Starbucks – the Carnegie is the place to be.
Yes it’s future is in the balance – so local people are gathering round, protecting it by finding creative and useful ways to utilize the fabulous rooms, before the axe falls and this gem is lost to the community.
Pleasure & Beauty is we hope, going to help trigger a landslide of locals coming forward to help transform the library.
Pleasure & Beauty is part of the Dulwich Festival 2015.
