Open public consulation for new velodrome pavilion

Stage 3 of the Save the Herne Hill Velodrome (HHV) regeneration project is underway.  A planning application for a new pavilion at the Velodrome, set to replace the derelict grandstand, has just been submitted to Southwark Council. The Trust is holding an open public consultation on the plans at the Velodrome, 104 Burbage Road SE24 9HE, on Easter Saturday April 4th from 10am-1pm, and also on Wednesday April 8th 2015, 6pm-8.30pm. Both are wheelchair accessible.

Submitted plans can be viewed via HHV's website at http://goo.gl/CGndtu

These plans and further documents can be viewed on the Turney and Burbage Roads website within the article 'Visit the Herne Hill Velodrome and have your say on the new pavilion, 4th April (10am -1pm) and 8th April (6pm – 8.30pm)' - http://goo.gl/hiQOM7

Regeneration Stage 1 was completed in 2011 and funded by British Cycling for resurfacing of the main track as well as new trackside fencing. This was completed in 2011. Stage 2 involved construction of a new Junior Track and Multi Use Game Area (MUGA) on the inside of the track and installation of track lighting to enable longer use of the track during winter months. This was completed in 2013 and funded by the Southwark Olympic Legacy programme (SOLP). Funding for Stage 3 comes from Sport England and the London Marathon Trust.
