News from Brixton and Norwood Foodbank

The Forum is pleased to share some news from Brixton and Norwood Foodbank, including a new intiative to encourage Foodbank users to book a 'call back' from a volunteer, to take the place of face-to-face chat which has been limited in the last few months.

"Since switching to our delivery model in April, one thing we've really missed is being able to chat to our guests. In an attempt to make our service more personal again we have started to place a single tea bag in every food parcel with an invitation to join us for a 'cuppa tea'. The invitation includes a phone number to book a slot for a call-back from one of our volunteers. When the call comes in, guests can put their kettle on and enjoy their cuppa while receiving relevant sign-posting advice or simply enjoying a chat. We've been able to run this service thanks to the close partnership with the Waterloo and Vauxhall Foodbanks."
