London's Mulberry Heritage: Belair, Brockwell & Myatt's Fields
The Museum of Walking have a walk coming up in National Park City Week (21-29 July) which passes through Herne Hill - a walkshop that covers three historic estates where mulberry trees were grown (and where some still survive): Belair Park, Brockwell Park & Myatt's Fields.
Peter Coles, urban nature writer and photographer, champion of the mulberry tree, will be leading the walk from West Dulwich rail station at 3.00pm on Sunday 29 July. The walkshop is free, but does require booking to reserve a place, and will involve a short train ride, so an oyster card or rail card will be needed.
