Local grants available from Thrale Almshouses
The Thrale Charity makes grants available every year to organisations helping people in need and distress across parts of Lambeth, Wandsworth and Southwark.
They donate £40,000 every year but receive very few applications for grants from groups in Herne Hill. They are keen to raise their profile in the area and give some grants to SE24 groups this year.
In 2019 they awarded small grants to 22 local groups that are working to support individuals and create stronger communities in the South London area. They provide a range of activities and services that include fitness for older adults and summer activities for young adults with learning disabilities; projects in community gardens; food bank and baby equipment bank; youth work, girls football and youth training; groups and outings for older people; mental health training for workers and volunteers; intergenerational work; day centre facilities for rough sleepers, drop in centres for refugees and much more.
Their grants range from £500 to £5,000 and organisations can apply for a grant using our simple application form which is on their website www.thralealmshouses.org.uk . More information is also available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org . The deadline for applications is 3 January.
