'Living with Trauma' Michelle Baharier Solo Show at the SHARP Gallery
'Living with Trauma' is a solo show by artist Michelle Baharier, founder of Cool Tan Arts (an innovative South London disability and mental health arts charity) and someone who has always fought for social inclusion of those stymied by mental health and disability stigma, despite suffering her own disability issues. It has been showing since August 29th and held its Private View last night. It continues until October 6th at the pioneering Social Inclusion, Hope and Recovery Project (SHARP) Gallery in Brixton, which has exhibited the work of over 120 artists, many of whom use mental health services. 'Living with Trauma' features montages and paintings which explore 11 years of Michelle's work and her journey in and out of mental distress. The SHARP is sponsored by South London and Maudsley (SLAM) and is open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm (by appointment) only with open viewings 1-4pm on Mondays.
