Inaugural parkrun

62 intrepid runners line up at the start of the first Brockwell Park parkrun. 5km in length and approximately one and half laps of the park.

Organised by parkruns and marshalled by volunteers it was a great start to the series of events. There will be a 5km parkrun every Saturday at 9.00 a.m., start by the Lido. Each time you do the run your time is recorded and you can track your progress on their web site. It is ideal for all abilities, jog, run, walk, whatever suits. Today saw one runner being pulled by two large Husky dogs (no advantage as the snow had gone), another went round pushing a buggy with child in.

Mince Pies were available at the Lido cafe so scored high on the Mince Pie ratings.
