Herne Hill Music Festival Super Sunday - 4 events with 3 in the Park!
After leading with music from Opal Flutes in Carnegie Library and a Youth Jazz Showcase at St Saviour's, Herne Hill Music Festival's Saturday finished with a well-attended recital from the Belvil Trio at St Faith's to benefit international development charity Practical Action.
Now it's time for Super Sunday - which means four events in one day, two free and two ticketed, with the first three in Brockwell Park, on Oct. 12th. Events begin with chamber choir The Friends' Musick's 'Noonday Serenade' (11:30-12:30) and founder member Annie Bright urges everyone to come up to Brockwell Hall to join her for some madrigals, rounds and audience participation! Plus some great views. We spoke with Annie at the Carnegie Library on Saturday afternoon after Opal Flutes' lunchtime concert - while the the flautists were packing up. See video below.
Then it's the Lambeth Wind Orchestra (LWO) bringing the curtain down on Music Arts Drama & Dance (MADD) for Brockwell Park 2014 with a free performance of bandstand and classical music at 1.30pm in the Performance Space by Brockwell Hall. Brockwell Park Community Partners will collect funds at the free performance to support future MADD for Brockwell Park community events. The Park performances end with Greenhouse Jazz from the Ben Croft Trio in the Community Greenhouses at 2:30pm. Greenhouses staff have been working hard to get ready for this show - should make for a great venue! Further info: http://bit.ly/1nTnciU
The Festival then moves out of the park to Herne Hill SE24 9LY for a Choral Evensong featuring the massed choirs of South London parishesat newly restored St Paul's Church at 6:30pm. http://bit.ly/ZPVVmJ
