Go Zero-Waste with your shopping this Christmas
- Jarr Market, a zero-waste shop in London, will sell zero-waste Christmas present options as well as recyclable wrapping paper, paper tape and recycled twine
- Going zero-waste this Christmas will help cut down on the huge problem of waste and plastic pollution. “According to Biffa, the UK creates 30 per cent more waste than usual over the festive period, throwing away more than 277,000 miles of wrapping paper – that’s enough to stretch to the moon! Households will use more than 300,000 tonnes of card and send over 100 million bags of rubbish to landfill.”
Jarr Market in Herne Hill is welcoming Christmas by selling eco-friendly and sustainable gifts and gift-wrapping options. Customers will have plenty of choices of gifts including gift bundles with soaps, shampoo bars, conditioner bars, loofas, bamboo soap dishes, bamboo toothbrushes and bath bombs in reusable organic cotton cloth bags.
Other Christmas gift options include jars full of fresh made peanut butter, ground in the shop by the nut grinder machine, jars of turmeric latte mix, mulled wine mix, recipe mixes or loose leaf tea in gift jars. Customers can also take jars full of our raw vegan chocolate range which include chocolate buttons, chocolate covered raisins, ginger, almonds and goji berries.
The shop sells a wide range of products that would be great Christmas stocking fillers including soy candles, natural deodorants, reusable coffee cups, bamboo travel utensil sets and other lovely handmade natural toiletries. Plus, you can stock up on all the ingredients you need to do your holiday baking while you’re in the shop!
